Description
Impressive gate in the Art Nouveau style. The core structure is made from offcuts of the Arch roof truss system wall faces, with some extra swirls added to prevent baby deer from jumping through. It’s a custom yakisugi burn finish with no coating, the soot wears out in the rain. It has a lifetime guarantee so far, I have been testing this process for six years now and there’s no delamination with this process.
I didn’t expect the finishing to be so much work, it’s a lot to get it right. Canadian fir exterior-grade plywood will last for years in the outdoors untreated if you burn the bristles off of all the cut edges, and I just made a whole bunch of cut edges to get the swirly design. I would happily sell a kit of unfinished cuts for $180, I feel like it shouldn’t come with assembly instructions for Puzzle enthusiasts.
