All plywood components provided by Wit’s End design and fabrication are Canadian exterior grade, and will not easily delaminate from weather and adverse conditions.
Exterior roofing
To provide the best durability, we offer any of the following options, depending on use and available means, in order of expense:
- Ferrous sulphate, water-soluble: We have tested this for years, and it seems to provide the same protection as much more expensive treatments against mould and insects. It is recommended for any exposed untreated plywood for this reason.
- EPDM rubber. It’s available and can be reasonably easily installed, but not without hassle. Probably please forget I am mentioning it.
- RV elastomeric paint can provide a temporary solution in a pinch
- Torch-on: Well, I guess, if you have to. Probably please don’t, but you be you.
- Wigluv Exterior sealing tape will bond to most untreated surfaces for a long time, and is paintable with elastomeric paint.
- Acriflex X-Pro, from Diasen Italy, this is an advanced, solvent-free waterproofing solution with fiber reinforcements. It’s flexible, UV-resistant, and perfect for outdoor and indoor applications, even in extreme temperatures, and is walkable.
- Standing seam metal roofing, from Java roofing on Quadra: Engineered to the radius of all Puzzle arch builds, this is available at 20 inch centres
Exterior walls
To provide the best durability, we recommend any of the following options, depending on use and available means:

- Decork Facade: This product allows your walls to breathe and provides longevity to all exposed surfaces
Exterior trim
To provide the best durability, we recommend the following:
- SAICOS Special wood oil: This product is simply amazing and non-volatile, perfect for trim and features.
