This product has been delighting generations with its comfortability and timeless elegance. Toddlers can wonder upon it as they learn gravity lessons, children can use the rope handles to get up until they get confidence to hug the crescent with one or two arms. Upon reasonable mastery of gravity and proficiency in the ukulele, a perfection of the swing may be manifested with no hands at all.
It has in 2025 been re-visioned to a Version 1.0, with the following attributes.
Featuring Canadian fir marine-grade plywood, local cedar seat, child-safe bold colour combinations and plant-based protective coating, this version is laminated and bound from the inside out with no exposed fasteners.
Aniline dye colours are sealed with all natural plant-based compounds, Special wood oil and UV protection products from SAICOS. The dye/wax/oil finish is restorative, as it can be repaired and re-layered over time as needed without the requirement of stripping and starting over for cracked or broken surfaces. The seat support components are laminated together and are ‘keyed’ in to the large crescent to improve bearing capacity, effectively becoming a 3D laminated single piece of 3.75” thick plywood at the seat base. It is bound to the cedar seat with three Festool dominoes and powerful non-volatile waterproofing M1 structural adhesive.
